EV Charging Installations

Installing an EV charger at home offers unmatched convenience, cost savings, and efficiency. Instead of relying on public charging stations, which can be expensive and time-consuming, a home charger allows you to power up your vehicle overnight, ensuring it's fully charged and ready to go each morning. Home charging is also significantly cheaper than public charging, especially if you take advantage of off-peak electricity rates. Additionally, having a dedicated charging station ensures faster charging times compared to a standard three-pin plug, reducing the time needed to get your vehicle road-ready. An EV charger also adds value to your property, making it an attractive feature for potential buyers as the demand for electric vehicles continues to grow.

The right EV charger for your home depends on your vehicle type, charging needs, and available power supply. Most home chargers are either 3.6kW, 7kW, or 22kW in capacity. A 7kW charger is the most common for residential use, as it offers a balance between speed and affordability, charging most electric vehicles in 6-8 hours. A 3.6kW charger is slower but may be suitable for occasional charging, while a 22kW charger provides much faster charging but requires a three-phase electrical supply, which isn’t available in most homes. Smart chargers, which allow for remote control via apps and integration with solar panels, are also an excellent choice for maximising energy efficiency. Our team at Vision Landscapers can assess your requirements and recommend the best charger for your home.

Installing an EV charger often requires groundwork, especially if your charging point is located far from your home’s main electrical supply or if your driveway needs preparation. At Vision Landscapers, we handle all aspects of the groundwork, from digging trenches for wiring to ensuring the area is stable and secure for the charging unit. If necessary, we can lift and relay driveways or patios to conceal cables neatly, preserving the aesthetics of your outdoor space. Proper drainage considerations are also factored in to prevent water buildup near the charging point. Additionally, before installation, a qualified electrician will conduct an assessment to check your home's electrical capacity and determine whether any upgrades, such as a dedicated circuit, are required. Our team ensures that all groundwork is carried out professionally, making the installation process smooth, safe, and compliant with regulations.
