Illuminate Your Outdoors
Project Overview:
For this garden remodel in Poole, we transformed a standard outdoor space into a sleek, functional area with modern touches. Using premium porcelain slabs throughout, this project achieves a seamless, elegant look that’s both low-maintenance and highly durable. Working with SB Building Services, we crafted a curved retaining wall, adding a unique architectural feature that frames the garden beautifully. Adding in sleeper-lined beds with built-in lighting, hidden concrete retaining blocks, and 50mm artificial grass to finish, this remodel combines style with usability, creating an inviting space for relaxation and outdoor living.

Project Details:
Porcelain Slab Patio & Pathways
The foundation of this remodel is a porcelain slab patio, chosen for its durability, modern aesthetic, and low-maintenance appeal. The slabs cover the entire surface area, creating a unified look that enhances the garden’s clean, contemporary feel. Porcelain is not only beautiful but also resistant to the elements, making it ideal for Poole’s coastal climate. The smooth, non-porous finish ensures easy cleaning and maintenance, so the new patio will look stunning for years to come.
Curved Retaining Wall with SB Building Services
One of the standout features of this project is the curved retaining wall. Crafted in collaboration with SB Building Services, this wall adds both structure and interest to the garden, effectively dividing the space while adding a soft, flowing element to the design. Curved walls are ideal for gardens with varying elevations, providing essential support and stability while enhancing visual appeal.
Sleeper Beds with Integrated Outdoor Lighting
To create a warm ambiance, we integrated outdoor lighting within the sleeper beds, adding both beauty and functionality to the space. These sleepers provide a natural contrast to the porcelain slabs and serve as planting beds or a simple border around the garden. Hidden concrete blocks beneath the sleepers securely retain the existing shed base, creating a clean, stable installation.
Slim-Line ACO Drains
Efficient drainage is key to any outdoor installation, especially with large hardscape areas. We installed slim-line ACO drains along the patio edges to ensure effective water runoff, preventing pooling and protecting the integrity of the garden. These drains are both unobtrusive and functional, maintaining the clean lines of the design without sacrificing performance.
Artificial Grass Finish
Finally, we added 50mm artificial grass to soften the overall look and provide a lush, evergreen lawn that requires zero maintenance. This high-quality artificial turf adds a natural touch to the modern design, creating a perfect space for relaxation, play, or entertaining.
